Pink Epidote Slab

Pink Epidote Slab Found in Tulare County Calif. Weighs about 14.5 Oz and measures about 7" x 4" x .3.08" or 7.82 MM Thick. This has sold as pink jade. In the past this material was called Thulite. Donald Kasper using Infrared spectroscopy study found this large discrepancy. Another mineral person stated Collectors will be very pleased to know that "pink epidote" is a a rare mineral, and this is a rare occurrence west of the Appalachian Mtns." Photographed wet and slabs are at an angle to stop some glare so slabs in pictures look smaller. This is not Thulite and Zoisite that it was believed to be for many years.
