Hello all: The Owner Dana, has stated it is in you hands as to a Saturday or Sunday. Only one day will be picked this month. Oct we are looking at another field trip for the Saturday of 10/27 or Sunday 10/28. Sunday is preferred. For those of you coming from a long distance you my camp and dig on a claim I have that is primitive (Donna Claim). A picture of stuff found at the Donna Claim can be found at http://www.minersgallery.com/index.php?news=yes The Cryo-Genie mine is an active pegmatite mine and some pictures of specimens that Beth and Bob Verish found 1 1/2 years ago. http://tech.ph.groups.yahoo.com/group/LA-Rocks/photos/view/19f5?b=7 This trip will cost only $30.00 if we have over 20 people.12 years of age and younger is $15.00. All will be able to dig in the tailing pile/dump and be given a tour of the insides of a working mine. Be sure and bring 1/8"-1/4" screens if you have. Small hand shovel-garden or large if you want. We will meet at the glider port 2 miles north of Warner Springs on hwy 79 at about 9:15 and leave at 9:30 Sharp. I would like to know how many want to go as I am just the coordinator, so please e-mail me back. A preference day and the alternate day? As they do want over 20 people going on one trip. Most of the parking will be on the paved road below and a short 100 yard walk to the collecting area. If you have a 4WD you will be able to go to the top. Bring your screens and digging stuff along with water, lunch drinks and sun block. You will be asked to sign a hold harmless agreement. If you want to camp over Friday or Saturday night I will let a few stay on the Donna claim and dig in the pegmatite. (No charge and keep all the stuff you find this is about 2 1/4 miles past the Cryo-Genie mine.) No large campers/5th wheels will make it on road we travel after leaving the glider port. This trip will be canceled and another date set if it plans to rain or snow. You will enjoy this trip. Richard Mueller richalp@cox.net See all posts...
