May was a busy month and went back this year to collect Turquoise and Variscite. The main location was the Royston mines in Tonopah NV. In June we had our annual picnic for the El Cajon Valley Gem And Mineral Society at my place and I also went back to Burro creek to look for some goodies. The copper mine closed the road with a new fence about a mile before we used to hike in for the better Burro Creek Lavender Chalcedony/Agate. Have been working the Del Mar Fair as a volunteer for my gold prospecting group on Fridays. Mid July a few of us will be on the Yuba river getting gold with dredges. If there is any interest, a few of us will be at my claims this Saturday, 6/27/09. You are all welcome to join. We will meet at the Jack In the Box in Ramona and Leave at 9:00 AM. If one is coming from the North to South on 79 then we can meet at Lost Valley Rd and 79 at about 9:30 The Donna claim is about 5.5 miles up the Lost Valley rd. past the Cryo-Genie mine. Here is a map. http://www.cryo-geniemine.com/CGDirectionsPage.htm Bring digging tools See ya See all posts...
