February was a great collecting month by collecting more Brenda (AZ) agate one day and then off to Burro Creek (AZ) for more collecting for two days. From there it was off to Tucson to see what the largest rock hound vendor get together and different show locations was all about. The convention center was an eye opener as to mineral specimen prices. Many $100,000 + value rocks. Something I say might be worth $100.00 was going for $700.00. Thank goodness I am not a mineral collector but then again, when I see the high prices I think it is about time to explore some of the old mines located in the silver district of La Paz County, AZ. and learn what the different minerals look like. Most of the Tucson locations had someone selling the common Moroccan stuff. I Sold mostly slabs at the Stoddard Wells Show second weekend in March and will be doing the Antelope Valley/Lancaster show first weekend in April followed by the Vista show the second week end in April. This past weekend, did some digging on my claim the Donna with no results but did go over to the Cryo-Genie mine to see a great Beryl specimen and an Apatite specimen found in the last 2 weeks. Hope to see you in the future somewhere. See all posts...
