8/1/11 Hot and Muggy here and ready to go gold prospecting

Hello all again: I left a day early for the CFMS Field Trip to Calico Mountains, CA that took place on the 28 of May. Found Sagenite on Saturday and that Friday silver lace onyx. Sunday a few of us went to the Cady mountains for Angel Wing Agate with fortification and we found a great spot. El Cajon Gem and Mineral had the Annual picnic at my place on the 11th of June and for the next 3 Fridays I volunteered to teach and sell gold for my gold prospecting group I belong to at the San Diego Del Mar Fair. Left on July 8th for the Kanaka Creek near Alleghany Calif. in Sierra County to use high banker and generator with shop vacs. I Plan to leave again early evening of 8/13/11 and stay a week. This last trip in July I did an explore on bedrock on the Kanaka Creek a few miles from Alleghany, Ca. It was not that great as the gold was mostly flower. I will take a small generator with a shop vac. again (I have 2) and get in the crevices on this bedrock. Most of the over burden is in the cracks as the river and wind cleans most sand off the high bedrock. On the Kanaka I know a claim person and I am always welcome. My stay there a few days and then down towards Foote Crossing on the Yuba river. I have a high banker plus extra sluice and many extra pans. The Yuba looks more promising then the Kanaka from my past experiences. I will drive my Cherokee with trailer and will share a ride with 2 more who want to go. This is primitive camping and we always eat great and live comfortably in tents as campers will not make the dirt roads. We share the gold we find. I wish we could dredge, but the state will not let us any more. I will be taking a canopy for the sun if we vacuum again close to where we will camp on the Yuba river as we have found nuggets there before and this time we will be removing berry bushes to get to more gold a few feet away from our past finds. Great rocks can also be found in the rivers and creeks. The water should be great to swim in and one can always leave to explore other areas in the high sierras. If there is interest in going on this trip, please e-mail or call me ASAP so we can set up a meeting location. No license is required unless you want to go fishing or drive. Please do some research on places mentioned in the e-mail and areas along the Hwy 49.
