Hello Newsletter subscribers: I did sell at Stoddard Wells and the Vista show. Once back from the Stoddard Wells show I had to wash my slabs due to the dust and during the Vista show they were washed again due to the rain. Did some metal detecting for gold in April at Potholes Calif but no luck. On a field trip in May to Payson AZ with Geodes and jasper's plus agates to be found. On the way there, went to the Chimney bed agate location but due to 105 degree temperatures only a few agates were found. I plan on going back as soon as it cools off and staying a few days to also explore the Fourth of July agate location just up the road. I should make an announcement to those on my field trip who want to go. My next field trip will be: Field trip for Gold. Leaving sometime on the 5th of July:
Going for Gold on Middle fork of the Yuba river. This location is on the Sierra and Nevada county line. I have been going to this location for close to 44 years on and off. Gold will be had by everyone with some work and hiking. We have extra equipment if you do not have any and will share in the goodies. Will teach you how to find gold. Last year I did some exploring up river and I think it might be a good location for gold. If there is some interest in going, please call me or e-mail me for the GPS coordinates or the directions for camping. It will be primitive camping and no large large motor homes will make it on this road. I camp in a tent and we always eat great. This is close to a 12 hour drive from my place in Alpine. I hope to stay at this location about a week, so less days is no problem for you if there is interest. If you have nothing better to do you can all ways drive to Alleghany or Downieville and see some of Calif. history. Please do some internet exploring about the area before you decide to make this trip. This trip is not being listed on my field trip list. It is only being told to my El Cajon Gem and Mineral Group and here. If there is interest on getting on my field trip list please send me an e-mail stating you want to be on the list. Yes stuff is being added to the site weekly so please check when you feel like it. Was at the beach today metal detecting and found 21 cents. I Hope you are having fun playing with rocks or minerals. Until next time-Richard
