Time for Utah and cooler days

09/19/2012 06:09:00

Hot into September here in So. Calif. I did make it twice to the Yuba river and plan on going to an invited claim on the Kanaka creek next year. Next week off to Utah for a week or so to look for some of the goodies that state has to offer. Going to a Henry Mountain location someone from Salt Lake City area told me the BLM might be closing parts of next year. On the way back might stop in AZ for banded agates. Our El Cajon club annual show has been canceled due to conflicting dates of another show. In October off to Tonopah NV for turquoise. This is an open field trip and I will send you info if there is interest on your part. Send me an e-mail if you want to be on my field trip list. During the Thanksgiving weekend hope to be at the Hauser Beds collecting geodes. Last year I went to Paradise Springs on private property in San Bernardino county. Both sites offer field trips to the rock hound who wants to collect. I need to explore the different geode and thunder egg locations as there are many in Imperial county around the Hauser beds. When it starts to cool down here in San Diego County, I do need to do some digging on a location called the mica pit on one of my claims called The Lost Peg. I will send out an e-mail as to a collective dig if one wants join in and keep what you find. Until next time
