Hello: After the gold trip in July to the Yuba river and Kanaka Creek the six of us decided that we would go to the Bear river near Colfax to explore for gold. I did find some old tertiary tailing piles of rock the old miners worked for gold about 5 miles east of where we were on the Yuba river. Do plan to go back there next year to to do more exploring. The Bear river has some good gold so I went again in August and took a few days to go to the Petersen Mountains N. of Hallalujah Juntion to search for Scepters. I met a person in Reno who showed us where on the Calif. Side. Quartz points were found but no Quartz Scepters. Looks like Pete from Reno will be meeting up at Topaz Mountain in Utah for some Topaz digging on Sept. 19th and then on to Hanksville north for geodes and south for Coprolite. If there is any interest in this trip please call me for more info. I should be gone for about 10 days and looking forward to more trips to AZ and the Calif desert in the next few months once the temp is below the 90's. Until next time
