Rock hounding, Stoddard Wells, Devore (San Bernardino) + more rock hounding

04/04/2010 06:04:00

On that last field trip for 2/25/10 we had 3 cars that went to the Tule location and there were 4 flat tires. I sold rocks at Stoddard Wells and the Devore show. Will also do the same at the Vista show held April 9,10 & 11 at the Antique Steam Engine Museum 2040 N Santa Fe, Vista Ca. From 3/27-3/29/10 collected rocks south of the Cady mountains and the Paul Bunyan Agate (San Bernardino County on both) . I am coordinating a field trip to the Cryo-Genie mine 4/17/10. Here is what I am saying and if you want to go then please let me know: Cryo-Genie mine Field Trip Saturday, April 17th http://www.cryo-geniemine.com/ Richard Mueller, (619)-445-0800 e-mail: richalp@cox.net (Call or e-mail if you have any questions.) * * * Call or e-mail Richard in advance to sign up for this trip as it is limited to around 25 people. * * * Meeting time: 9:30 AM -9:45 AM (Glider port 2 miles north of Warner Springs on hwy 79) This trip will cost only $30.00. 12 years of age and younger is $15.00. All will be able to dig in the tailing pile/dump (Keep what you find) and go insides the working mine. Be sure and bring 1/8"-1/4" screens if you have along with water, lunch, drinks and sun block. You might want to bring that flash light and small hand shovel-garden or larger if you want. We will meet at the glider port 2 miles north of Warner Springs on hwy 79 at about 9:30 and leave at 9:45 Sharp on 4/17/10. I would like to know how many want to go as I am just the coordinator, so please e-mail me back. Most of the parking will be on the paved road below and a short 100 yard walk to the collecting area. If you have a 4WD you will be able to go to the top and park by the mine. You will be asked to sign a hold harmless agreement. If you want to camp over Friday or Saturday night I will let a few stay on the Donna claim I have and dig in the pegmatite. Plus, you can also go over to my other claim and dig there. No facilities at both. (No charge and keep all the stuff you find. This is about 2 1/4 miles past the Cryo-Genie mine.) No large campers/5th wheels will make it on the road we travel after leaving the glider port. This road is paved so 2 wheel drive will make it to the mine parking area. From the Glider port the drive to the mine is no more than 3 miles. This trip will be canceled and another date set if it plans to rain or snow and please God no fires. You will enjoy this trip. :-) http://www.cryo-geniemine.com/ -- Richard S.
