Oolite (egg stone) Slab
Oolite (egg stone) Slab is a sedimentary rock formed from ooids, spherical grains composed of concentric layers and was formed during the Jurassic age. In the tropics, many beaches are covered with the skeletal remains of marine organisms and precipitated oolites (small, rounded calcium carbonate particles). Specimen is approximately 4" x 3.5" and .232" Thick or 5.89mm Thick. Weighs about 4.70 ounces. I see a possible potential crack yet great cabs can still be made. Photographed wet and slab is at an angle to stop some glare so slab in pictures look smaller.
