White Lighting or Iron Buffalo stone $5.00 Oz. As you might know Rough White Buffalo is found in a number of locations around Tonopah NV. Both in Esmeralda and Mineral County. Some is more white than black. I now want to call this material White Lightning as the Otteson's call it White Buffalo and no Bison about it. The material I have is more black and was found in Esmeralda county. This material did not come from an Otteson claim. I did not pick up small pieces as the material is in seam-large clusters. This material is opalized calcite and chert. This is not dolomite as I put some muriatic acid on a piece and it did not fizz. When slabbing, I noticed the yellow does go through and is not an outside iron stain. I went to E bay to see the material they sell at a high price and the small pieces looked tumbled. Mine is rough rock. Most of my chunks are different sizes and many over 1 LB.
