White Lighting or Iron Buffalo stone $5.00 Oz
White Lighting or Iron Buffalo stone $5.00 Oz. As you might know Rough White Buffalo is found in a number of locations around Tonopah NV. Both in Esmeralda and Mineral County. Some is more white than black. I now want to call this material White Lightning as the Otteson's call it White Buffalo and no Bison about it. The material I have is more black and was found in Esmeralda county. This material did not come from an Otteson claim. I did not pick up small pieces as the material is in seam-large clusters. This material is opalized calcite and chert. White Buffalo/White Lighting/Iron Buffalo is calcite, Dolomite and aragonite and are just different crystalline structure of calcite. Some of the white is straight opalized calcite, some is dolomite (opalized) and some is aragonite. All are calcite. (White) When slabbing, I noticed the yellow does go through and is not an outside iron stain. I went to E bay to see the material they sell at a high price and the small pieces looked tumbled. Mine is rough rock. Most of my chunks are different sizes and many over 1 LB. Let me know before you order a general range (Example: 10 Oz's to 20 Oz's.) on what you might want and I will get back to you with a total price to include S & H. Only $5.00 Oz. Over 1 lb $4.00 Oz.
